Todd found and got for me a huge bag full of assorted vintage buttons! I haven’t finished sorting/washing all of them yet, but here are some of them.
…some pretty ones that I especially love.
And here are pearly ones. They are mostly plastic of sorts but some of them are glass.
And here are my favorite ones — I love glass buttons far better than diamonds!
I had a date with Immi hanging out on Hawthorne Blvd. Immi seems to enjoy outings with just the two of us, and I enjoy it too since she is actually fun to shop with. This is a little nook we found at the back of House Vintage. The old TV is still [sort of] working!
Immi seemed a little tired so instead of walking around much, we sat down for a frozen yogurt. We found a self serve yogurt bar called Swirl where you can build your own with which ever yogurt and toppings (you pay by the oz at the counter). Check out our creation it has: plain frozen yogurt, mochi, lychee, condensed milk, mini M&Ms and sprinkles. It’s totally weird but that’s because immi and I were going to share it.
I’ve been wanting to make spring scarf, and I thrifted a perfect yarn for it at KnittnKitten for $2.75 (It’s a thick&thin 100% cotton yarn — probably handmade, the price tag underneath it says $20!)! …Of course I have this tendency to start seasonal project *during* the season rather than *before* which probably means it’ll be mid-summer by the time I finish this at the rate I’m going with it. I haven’t had much time for knitting as I’d like since I’ve been trying to redesigning my other website, but it’s almost done!
I also thrifted some vintage crochet hooks. Pink one says “hero” on it, and I thought it charming that blue one says “55¢” — for which I’ve gladly shelled out $1.50 
Here’s my Birthday treat (it’s next tuesday, but that’s a silly day for a birthday so…): very yummy bubble tea from Tea Chai Té and [was] a piece of carrot cupcake.
We found these mid 30′s salt/pepper shakers today. I love glassware from depression era for their intricate patterns and very pretty translucent colors. Apparently they aren’t worth much these days since everyone saved them thinking they’d be worth something and the antique market is now flooded with them (good news to me!).
We’ve ventured out to North East of Portland because I wanted to checkout the yarn shop called Twisted. We are having coffee at Seven Virtues who serve local coffee, local pastries, and showcase local artists. Here’s Todd’s big white mocha and my little white mocha. All the espresso drinks in PDX seem to come with pretty frothy designs — am I’m being spoiled here, or is this how coffee supposed to look?
The yarn shop, was the best yarn shop I’ve been in EVER. It’s not the biggest (which will the the Yarn Garden in different part of Portland) but they have very nice selection of yarn, very cozy and happy atmosphere (and they serve huge menu of tea!), and best of all, very friendly staff! I got this pinky orangie super soft cotton yarn destined to be immi’s something.
